Congratulations to all of the teams that took part in the 2022 Downsman Hike. Fantastic to see so many happy faces hiking along the Downs, everyone did exceptionally well and should feel very proud of their achievements. The Downsman is an extremely tough test of physical and mental endurance, well done!

The Downsman is vast, at its peak there was a spread of teams spanning approximately 40 miles. A brilliant team of volunteers kept the Scouts safe and under supervision. Thank you to checkpoint staff, Eastbourne District Scouts First Aid Team (EDSFAT), 4×4 vehicle rescue, hill walking SASU, logistics leams, amateur radio operatives, service crews, leaders, HQ staff and the committee members. All are essential components of the team without whom the Downsman simply wouldn’t be possible.

Next years Downsman Hike will be on Saturday 7th October 2023. I hope to see as many of you as possible.
