Teams will be allocated an arrival time for the car park at their start location, they will then book in with checkpoint staff. Due to parking constraints, keep the number of vehicles at the start & finish locations to an absolute minimum. The Service Crew car will transport most, if not all of the team. Organise parents/leaders to lift share for teammates that cannot be accommodated in the Service Crew vehicles to the start locations. Any such lift sharing cars, that are only dropping off teammates, must depart the carpark as soon as their team is with their Service Crew. Arrive very punctually, teams arriving too early or too late may be turned away and asked to return later for the first available time slot. Hiking start times will be allocated after kit checks are complete and will be within the range stated. It is anticipated that well organised teams will have started hiking within 20 minutes of their allocated car park arrival time.
Leaders must ensure that Teams arrive at their start location ready to hike, i.e. team equipment has already been issued and rucksacks are packed. Your cooperation in helping get your teams swiftly through the check in process is greatly appreciated.
Vehicles cannot be abandoned at the Steyning Bowl or Itford start locations. Vehicles may be left at Bignor and Plumpton start locations at risk of the owner.
At the finish, the whole team will be invited to see a member of the Eastbourne District Scout First Aid Team (EDSFAT) for a voluntary assessment. Please encourage your teams to declare any injuries that they may have, rather than attempt to hide them.
